Bevans Finishes Ninth in Men's Javelin

On the last day of athletics competition at the Commonwealth Games Erin Bevans managed a throw of 72.37 for ninth spot in men's javelin. Bevans, the new Canadian record holder was unable to make the final on his last day of what has been a season of ups and downs. In February Bevans established a new Canadian record of 79.52m but suffered from injuries for most of the Canadian throwing season and was not able to duplicate his throws from earlier in the year
