The Cal State Northridge track and field team signed a top throwing prospect when it inked Carol Stevenson to a National Letter of Intent. Stevenson, of Notre Dame Regional Secondary School in Vancouver, British Columbia, is the second recruit to sign a letter of intent with the team this semester.

"She is definitely the best throw prospect in Canada," said Matador Assistant Coach Glenn McAtee, who is a native of nearby Burnaby, B.C. "She represented Canada at the World Junior Championship (19-under, in Annecy, France)."

Stevenson has personal bests of 46.66 (153-1) in the discus throw; 52.42 (172-0) in the hammer throw and 12.25 (40-2.25) in the shot put.
