Silver Medal for Fournier

June 02 1999

Earlier today Michelle Fournier finished second in women's hammer at the NCAA Championships being held in Boise Idaho this week. Fournier, a senior at the University of South Carolina threw a personal best of 62.91 which is also a new Canadian record, surpassing her two week old mark of 62.88. Florence Ezeh of SMU won the event with a toss of 63.14 which was thrown in the preliminary rounds. Renetta Seiler of Kansas State also threw a preliminary round throw of 61.97 which was good enough for third spot. Finishing in fourth place was Robin Lyons of Wyoming with a toss of 60.65. Jennifer Joyce, the third Canadian competing in women's hammer threw 56.02. The final results were as follows:
