Smith, Johnston, Chamoy NCAA Contest Winners

June 10 1999

After tallying hundreds of entries for the NCAA prediction contest the winners have been announced. The top 3 scorers will win their choice of T-SHIRT from the CanThrow Tshirt Collection. Glenn Smith of Calgary Alberta was the overall winner with a total of 43 points. Smith is presently ranked third in Canada in the 100m with a time of 10.43 and second in the 100m with a time of 21.01 but has a love of the throws like no other sprinter could have. Congratulations to Glenn. In second place was Todd Johnston, the head coach of the Saskatoon track club who presently coaches a number of nationally ranked athletes in the hurdles and sprints as well as in the decathlon and throws. Johnston's total was 42 points. In third place was Todd Chamoy from Somerville Massachusetts with a total of 39 points. Thanks to all those that entered the contest and look for this contest again with the NCAA indoor and outdoor nationals in the year 2000 and try your luck at winning a coveted CanThrow Collection Tshirt We will also be doing this contest for the Canadian National Championships at the end of June.
