Jason Tunks Finishes Fourth in Sub Par Goodwill Competition

July19 1998

Jason Tunks finished fourth at the Goodwill Games with a toss of 62.53, only 31cm back of John Godina of the USA, who posesses the world's farthest throw this year. The meet contained no large throws as it appears many of the athletes may be saving them for the World Cup later in the season. Russian Dmitri Shebchenko won the event with a toss of 64.81m while Andy Bloom, also of the USA, finished second with a throw of 63.97. Brad Snyder finished 6th in Shot Put as John Godina won the event while CJ Hunter was second and Adam Nelson was third to complete a US sweep of the event.
