Snyder to Compete at Innaugural IAAF World Youth ChampionshipsJuly 13 1999Trevor Snyder of Windsor Ontario will competing at the Innaugural World Youth Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, July 16-18,1999. Snyder, who earlier in the year set a Nations juvenile best of 65.84, will be the only thrower on the team of nine athletes. The following is a brief bio of our first thrower to attend the World Youth Championships: Name: Trevor Snyder Born:June 6, 1982 in Windsor Ontario Height: 1.83m Weight: 87kg Club: Windsor Legion Track Club High School: St. Joseph's Catholic Coach: Denise Hebert Events: Shot, Discus, Javelin, Hammer Favourite Event: Javelin Pastimes: Reading, Golf Mother: Beth - Bank Teller Father: Darryl - Inspector - Windsor Police Services Siblings: 1 brother, 1 sister Bradley - Canadian Olympic Team Member 96 - Shot Put - Senior at University of South Carolina, Lauren - University of Windsor Track Team Greatest Influence: Brother Brad Training Partner: Steve Bedard Future Career?: Police Officer, Teacher 1999 Personal Bests: Shot 15.88(i), Discus 50.03, Javelin 65.84 1999 Highlights and Records Kennedy Relays Javelin Champion OFSAA Junior Boys' Javelin Champ and New Record 65.84m OTFA Juvenile Boys Record (as above) St. Joseph's winning the OFSAA Overall Boys' Team Title 1998 Highlights OTFA Juvenile Boys Javelin Champ Ontario Legion and National Legion Javelin Champion 57.10 (season best) 1997 OTFA champion and record holder in both the Midget Boys' Discus and Javelin Interesting note: Tevor was injured for the 98 school season and part of the 98 summer (lumbar strain). His off-season training/rehab went very well; he spent the winter running with the sprinters and learning to hurdle to improve both his speed and flexibility. He worked extremely hard, he even was seen "losing his lunch" at more than one practice.
