Record Breaking Continues for RussellApril 6 1998Scott Russell continued his record breaking ways at the 71st Texas Relays in Austin Texas on April 4th when he established a new Canadian junior record in javelin. Russell threw 71.64m to finish third behind Boris Henry (85.92) and Breaux Greer (75.44). Russell also threw 53.20m in hammer. Russell's toss surpasses the record set by Jason Spalding of 70.40m set in May of 1990. Derek Woodske improved upon his personal best by throwing 58.48m in men's hammer at the Spokane College Invitational. Woodske had a final throw that was well beyond the 60m mark (sector foul) and looks to have a good outdoor season to cap off his last year at North Idaho College before attending Wyoming in the fall. At the same meet Nikki Pawluk threw 42.47m in hammer to finish third.
