1999 CALTAF TRACK CLASSIC

Host of Western Canada Summer Games Trials and

Alberta vs. Saskatchewan Midget Dual

June 19-20, 1999

Entry fees: $10 per event, $5 per relay team.

Midgets: $7 first event, $5 each subsequent event.

Cheques payable to "CALTAF TRACK CLASSIC".

$3000 IN PRIZE MONEY! The top five performances in both male and female OPEN/WCSG Trials categories (5 awards for women and 5 awards for men in the field and on the track, to make a total of 20 awards).

Performances will be ranked as per the IAAF points table. Prize money will be presented to the top overall 5 as follows:

1st=$300, 2nd=$200, 3rd=$150, 4th=$100, 5th=$50

Athletes must finish in the top 5 places in the event final to be eligible for any prize money.

The TOP performances per IAAF points will be updated throughout the competition.

Entry Deadline: Entries must be received by Friday, June 11, 1998.

No entries will be received after 8:00pm, June 18. The late entry fee is double the regular fee. Alberta clubs must use the AA Official Meet Entry Form.

Any events with less than 3 competitors will either be cancelled or will run with another age category.

PLEASE ENTER EVENTS USING EVENT NUMBER RATHER THAN EVENT NAME.

e.g. Open Men 100m is "102" . Anyone not using the AA entry form, with the proper numbering structure, will be asked to re-submit their entries.

 

Registration Packages: Packages will be available at the track starting at 9:00 am Saturday.

Facility: Foothills Athletic Park

    • 8 lane Versaturf track, recommended spike length is 7mm for track.
    • Versaturf runways for all jumps (with new toe boards) and javelin
    • cement circles for shot put, discus, and hammer
    • locker room facilities
    • fully automatic phototiming and 2 wind gauges

Awards: Meet medals will be awarded to all MIDGET athletes. Prizes, rather than medals will be awarded to WCSG and Open athletes. WCSG athletes and Open athletes are eligible for prize money by achieving a top five performance.

Special events: FATHER’S DAY RACE. The race will take place on Sunday, Father’s Day, during the lunch break. The teams entering the race will be eligible for the exclusive FATHER’S DAY DRAW. The winner win an ounce of GOLD!

The other special event will be a 50/50 DRAW on both days of the meet. Each day, someone will win a half ounce of GOLD!

Eligibility: All athletes must be registered with a branch of Athletics Canada.

Athletics Alberta "Day-of-the-Meet" memberships will be available ONLY to

MIDGET and OPEN athletes. These DOM athletes must register by the

deadline, but may fill out the form at the meet.

    • Midget: born 1984 or later (15 and under)
    • WCSG: born 1976 or later (23 and under)
    • Open: no age restriction
