1999 WORLD UNIVERSITY (FISU) GAMES

ELIGIBILITY RULES FOR ATHLETES

All competitors must satisfy the following conditions:

1. Be Canadian citizen with a valid Canadian passport.

2. Be at least 17 and less than 28 years of age as of January 1, 1999.

* An athlete born on or between 1 January 1971 and 31 December 1981.

3. Be an amateur as defined by IAAF rules.

4. Be a student who is officially registered for and pursing a full-time course of study at a post-secondary institution.

* Full-time status must be authorized by a document from the registrar of the institution.

* Post-secondary institutions include community colleges, professional schools, technical schools, cegep, and univesities in Canada or outside of Canada.

Or Be a former student who has graduated from a post-secondary institution after 1 January 1998.

* Graduation must be confirmed by a document from the registrar of the intitution.
